So how does it work?
Inside your companies messenger channel, each user can decide to buy a gift card based on the different amounts that we set up. A person could buy a gift card worth 100 €, 200 €, 500 € depending on your choice.
Once the user bought their gift card they get credits in your store. They can simply check their credits in the menu option "Gift Card". Here they will also see when the gift card expires.
To use the gift card they simply press "Use" and write the amount they want to use for the purchase.
Validation If you want or the cashier wants to validate the amount we can add a validation feature that will ensure that the person wants to use their credits. Once you or they press validate the credits will be drawn from their gift card.
Create your own currency
It's not as complicated as you may think!
When you are using the gift card feature you could decide whatever amount of credits you want to give your users based on their purchase. Ex. 10 $ could equal 100 credit in your own currency. Why is this useful?
At the Norwegian Music Festival Palmesus they do not use cash or cards inside the party area. Why? Well, it good is of bad reception and to speed up the queues and avoid working with change. Other reasons could be to decreases the risk of teeth and avoid having too much cash in the party area. Instead of using cash or card, they enable visitors to buy plastic coins a few days before the festivals start. 1 coin cost 60 Norwegian Kronor, approximately 6 €. Inside the festival, the prices are adjusted to the value of the coins. A drink is 2 coins, a burger is 2 coins.
This enables them to speed up the queues and deliver faster services and avoid any trouble with card machines or exchange of cash.
However, the biggest benefits are of course that they get visitors to pay upfront. The visitor has to make an assumption hos how much money they will use inside the festival. Then it's up to them to spend it all. Either way, Palmesus gets paid.
Use the currency to vote for important decisions
We already stated that the biggest reason to use your own currency is to get paid upfront or in advance.
Besides, enabling fans to buy food, beverages, tickets, and merch, you could let them use their credits to vote for important decisions about the club. They simply decide how many credits they want to use for that specific decision.
Let them vote for the next year's match shirt. The option that gets the most votes or the most credits wins. Simple as that!
By doing so you enable fans to feel more a part of the club since they can influence important decisions. They could take credit for great decisions and proudly say:
- I made that happen.
- I was a part of that decision.
To attract fans to use your own currency you could give them discounts whenever they use the club currency. Ex if they buy for 50 € they could get extra credits, so 52 €.
